the Classic Gardens in Suzhou

Long known as he "Oriental water city ", Suzhou is located in the South of Yangtze River Delta , adjacent to Tai Lake in the west and to Shanghai in the east . It is also located at the intersection of the Grand Canal and the Suzhou Greek . The Suzhou gardens were put on the World Cultural Heritages List by UNESCOWHC in 1997 . These gardens are the cream of the gardens South of the Yangtze River . They feature different styles of the garden landscapes and architectures in the Song , Yuan , Ming and Qing Dynasties . The Surge Pavilion , the Lion Grove ,the Humble-Administrator Garden and the Lingering Garden (Liu Garden) are the four famous gardens of Suzhou , representing respectively the garden architecture styles of these dynasties .
